Dog-Friendly Beaches on Oahu, Hawaii
Here is a list of dog allowed beaches on Oahu. We also listed no-dogs allowed beaches so that you can have the information in one place. Please take care so that we can share the shoreline together without incidents that may cause restrictions.
I’m sure everyone knows, but just a gentle reminder
- Dogs have to be on a leash
- Dispose dogs’ waste properly – it’s the law and violations are subject to citations and fines – yes, a police can be involved in it
- Continuously supervise your dog
- If the dog is showing unfriendly behavior, today might not be the day to be on a public beach and you should bring the dog home
Some safety info for the dog
- Did you know dogs can get sunburned? Hawaii’s sun is quite strong and it’ll burn you and your dog. Apply some sunblock (zinc-free) to the dog’s ears and nose
- Make sure your dog doesn’t drink seawater
- Just as running on sand is harder for us, it’s also harder for dogs, so keep their exercise limit in mind
- Lava rocks can be very sharp and just like it can pierce through our feet, so can their paws
Ok~ Here is the map. After the map, there is a list of the beaches so that you can check.
You can zoom in and out, and also if you open the left side bar (click ) then you will be able to click on and off the different type of beaches.
Here is a list of beaches where they are allowed in all areas
Keep in mind it’s not leash free. As mentioned, you should expect your dog to be On-Leash at all times at any beach, unless you are visiting a dog park.
