We invite you to join us for an exciting dolphin tour on the remote west shore of Oahu! This area is well known for having the calmest and clearest waters around the island. It’s perfect for snorkeling and home to both Spinner Dolphins and those mighty winter visitors: the Humpback Whales. Dolphin Excursion

Snorkel with spinner dolphins in Oahu! We begin as Nai’a I departs from Waianae Boat Harbor and travels along the scenic west coast in search of spinner dolphins. We will make sure you observe these animals under an eco-friendly leadership giving you a safe open ocean safari you will remember.

What To Expect

Take some of the most incredible photographs of your vacation as the spinners come to visit you and perform their superb aerial stunts. Few people have the opportunity to see these spectacular displays. Passively observing Spinner Dolphins while in the water is one of our goals. We follow guidelines that are dictated by Federal Law protecting these animals.

We will also snorkel at sites with Hawaiian Sea Turtles and tropical fish. Occasionally, we will encounter Bottlenose and Spotted dolphins too. During the winter months, we may even get to see a Humpback Whale! This excursion is led by seasoned island naturalists with years of experience on the Waianae Coast.

Whale Watch

Humpback Whales migrate to the Hawaiian Islands during the winter months Mid-December to March. The humpback whales come to the Hawaiian Islands for the purpose of calving and mating, the warm inshore waters surrounding these islands offer the young whales’ protection from predators as they build up enough body fat for their 3,000-mile journey north.

What To Expect

We specialize in safely leading small groups in our state of the art 34-foot rigid inflatable boat with our lifeguard certified crew. You will have a chance to see and hear humpback whales as they sing their “songs” – composed of themes which, in turn, are composed of phrases. Males produce intricate “songs,” only during the mating season. Males reach 43 feet (14 m) and females 45 feet (15 m) in length and weigh 35 tons, on average.

These acrobatic animals are known for breaching and slapping the water with their tails and pectoral fins. This type of whale can be found from as far South as South America, as far North as Alaska, in Australia, New Zealand, as well as a number of south pacific islands, but one of the best places to view them up close is in the warm waters of the Hawaiian Islands.
