Chinaman’s Hat Kayak Tour

Join us on one of the best Oahu kayak tours to the stunning basalt islet, Mokoliʻi. This guided ocean kayaking/hiking tour takes you to the reef-lined shore of Chinaman’s Hat. You will be ocean kayaking and therefore we suggest this tour for intermediate or advanced individuals who are experienced in kayaking.

On this local-style Oahu kayak tour, you’ll experience the adventure of kayaking on the ocean and get a great view of the Ko’olau Mountain Range and Kaneohe bay on the east side of Oahu. You’ll get a quick kayaking lesson, safety demo, description of the route and be helped into your kayaks.

The water is clear and surprisingly shallow, so you’ll be able to see that turquoise blue hue that Hawaii is known for. Normally there are small rolling waves or no waves at all due to the reef that extends for a good 100 feet or so from the shore. This makes it easy to launch your kayaks and not have to battle large waves to get out to Mokoli’i.

You land on the west side of the island in a nice little rocky inlet. Be sure to have your shoes ready because you’ll be setting off to explore the island next. All along the way, the guide will help ensure your safety, give you some more info about the area and share some local tips for your trip.

River Kayak Self-Guided Tour

Enjoy a picturesque landscape of turquoise ocean, secluded beach, green-clad mountains and plentiful jungle. This Oahu kayak tour takes you up a calm river into the valley then out into the bay for a great view of the coast.

Since this is a self-guided experience, you will be receiving the kayaks at the meeting location and we can help you load the kayaks on your vehicle so you can transport them to the kayak launch location. Any 4 door Sedan, van or SUV will work fine.

This is the best Oahu kayak experience if you’re looking for epic green scenery or have kids that want to come on the trip too. Since the self-guided tour can be mostly on a river, it’s family friendly and great for beginners. You start out nestled in a valley between two arms of land that stretch out into the ocean to form a sheltered bay. You will be surrounded by green-clad mountains and a picturesque landscape; ocean, beach, mountains and rain forest. You will paddle up a calm river where you can be immersed in the wonderful landscape.

You will get to explore the rain forests of Oahu’s Windward Coast where you get a hidden Amazonian-like feel without the dangers of Anacondas or Paranas. If you are attentive you will often see wetland birds in the trees and schools of fish rippling under the water.
